![]() There are workarounds to it, of course, but every single post, video, text blurb, whatever about the GH5 ever talks about how its biggest weakness is low-light. This gear is too expensive to seriously consider a body just because your friend has it. You need to start extensively researching whatever gear you're looking to buy before pulling the trigger. Once you buy into those - not only will you spend more money on fast lenses for performance comparable to MFT or 3rd Oarty glass from say, Sigma®, Tamron®, etc., etc., but with E-Mount lenses in your arsenal, you’ll find it nearly impossible to adapt E-Mount lenses to most other camera cameras using a different mount than E-mount.įor that reason - and because SONY® forces us users to live with an absolutely convoluted menu system compared to Panasonic® which makes menu diving a miserable experience for me at least, and that Sony® forced us also to reside only in the inferior 8-bit video color space on most of their models including A7iii (as opposed to Lumix™️ GH5’s 10-bit option), I’ve determined to cease and desist from buying any more E-Mount lenses - and also Sony® cameras - but that’s a personal decision I’ve made. ![]() 71x verses the other magnification (.64x, etc., etc.), because I’m a bit fuzzy on which is best to use for APS-C lenses vs Full Frame lenses.Īnother warning about purchasing Sony® cameras which typically utilize E-Mount” lenses: I hope others will chime in, about the use of Metabones® Speedbooster™️ Ultra. Those suggesting Sony A7iii have a point, relative to low light performance however, with my Sony Alpha cameras I find the shorter battery life, and the relatively poor in-body image stabilization compared to the superior stabilization you get from Lumix GH5 - most especially when using M43 mount lenses with stabilization.īe sure to go to Metabones website to get a glance at which specific Metabones Speedbooster you would be served best by, for the specific lens(es)’ make, model and features of said lens you wish to maintain. 71x for “Canon® EF-mount” lenses or a Speedbooster™️ for “Nikon® F-mount” (full frame) lenses.īe aware of the fact that some lenses are APS-C and done are Full Frame - and both are suitable for use on GH5 - just be sure to choose the best Speedbooster® model depending on the glass you wish to use. I am unsure but I am really dissatisfied with the results I got of the last party which is a shame. Is it overhyped or really the best option for what I am doing? I feel like the GH5 is as bad as my phone camera in that scenarios. Recently I am filming a lot of events with low light. They started to do just day time events and I loved the GH5 for all it's options and beautiful colours. So I thought the GH5 is a really good fit for me. I am their videographer and ocasionally do photos. I started to be in an art collective and we do partys. I am in between amateur and professional videographer trying to transition.
